Melinda learning to drive Luke.

“Luke” is Melinda’s 1969 Ford F-100.
Fully Manual.

Its not easy. But she has been practicing a few months now, and she is really getting a hold of it. I can tell you there are few teenagers that could handle this truck. It’s a handful. I’m impressed. <3

Rockwell’s last first day of k-12.

It had to happen sometime. Rockwell is a senior at NAHS. I wish him well. He will do great.

Rockwell FINALLY gets a Blue Tongue skink!

This kid has been waiting for years to get one of these as a pet! We picked him up at the Columbia Repticon last weekend.

His name is George. Pretty sure he named it after Watsky, a musician he likes.

George is already digging in the cage we made for him!

Here he is in Rockwell’s room.

Melinda receives her Academic letter!

Watching Melinda receiver her letter, and the important people addressing the small crowd, You really get a sense of the seriousness of the occasion. I was impressed!

All of the people on the left are the teachers in their hoods and caps, the people in front are the senior students. You get an idea of the teacher student ratio!

And here is Melinda with her Roommate! I am proud of both of them.

Parents day at GSSM.

This is the day where we get to visit all of Melinda’s classes and teachers.  I did that, but we ended up having more fun in art class than anywhere else.

The teacher had us all work with clay. And that teacher had taught this process across the world (literally),  so she had the process down. It was pretty funny listening to her actually.

In the process!

Some of the art Melinda was working on. I recognized them right away. The “Melinda with cheerios” picture from 2002, and Rockwell in the parkinglot with the Iguana 2013(?)

And our finished (but not fired) friends!

Knife making with Hannah and Amber

First we started out with some plain old railroad spikes.

Had to heat them up a bit before we flattened them out!

Elbow Grease.

Strike while the Iron is hot they say.

The twisted handles. They are nice.

Turned out well IMO!

Practicing to be Thor I guess.

Melinda and I visit the history museum in Columbia SC.

I’m guessing these are regional? I suppose I should know.

lol.. We spent more time at this display than we probably should have..

But part of the reason was, their display was wrong! We did it the right way, above.. 🙂

Here we are in a triangular mirror box.. Some day I will adjust the brightness to make the pic better. sorry.

Rockwell’s Birthday party!

Kathi had a party for Rockwell at the river (In the Pavilion)

We had fun riding bikes into the river. I tried it, and Rockwell tried it.

I think one other friend of Rockwell’s tried it. I was surprised all the others did not want to though.

We had fun all the same. Actually, it was a little too boisterous.. One boy fell out of a tree and broke his leg, and we had a storm roll though that blew everything around like crazy.

Crazy day!

Trail ride at canal single track

Melinda and Rockwell and I took a bike ride at the canal single track. I’ve ridden with a lot of folks, both of them ride better and more competently than they realize.

Hanging out under the Riverwatch bridge at the canal.

Deep in the woods!
