I added a new “feature” to the web log.. When I send pictures to a special email address, they instantly show up on the web site… If you have a cellphone camera and want that email address so you can send pictures too, let me know, and Ill give it to you. The more instant pictures the better. FYI, its called “moblogging” or mobile blogging… Anyway.. Its all in fun.

If your a real geek, you can click on the picture, and then, in the window that comes up, look left and click on “notify me on updates” If you do that, you will get an email each time I send a new picture…

I will share some pictures of my very favorite subjects to photograph.

Here is Hannah learning to say “Daaaddd..”

I am sure she will perfect it somewhere around her 16th birthday.

Here is Melinda. I think the camera just likes her. Or, its just me.

Because in my eyes, this kid cant take a bad picture.

Here is Rockwell saying “Watch out world, here I come!!” As he just learns to pull himself up on furniture.

too fast too fast too fast….. they just grow too fast.

There are a couple new pictures on the garden blog.

After Church today we went to Arthurs house. For those of you who have not met Arthur (I know Verna and Steph have) here is a picture of him, today in his back yard.

Anyway, The girls went swimming today. The sun was hot but the water is still a bit cold. FYI people dont like to swim in SC in august. Why? Because the water is too hot! no kidding. Anyway, we had that sorbet, and visited. It was a pleasant afternoon in the country.

Oh, I almost forgot.. Hannah is in the “joyful noise Choir” (funny name, no?) Next Sunday, they will be singing “I am the church”… I went to look for the lyrics on the web, and can’t find them. Can you? ( I know the song… I just want to make sure I’m singing it right)

Today was busy… Kath had a yard sale, while Hannah, Melinda, Rockwell and I went and picked straberries in a strawberry patch. They liked that of course. After we were done there, I donated my time and cotton candy machine to the “family fun fair”, a party at the Augusta Commons sponsored by The local Toyota Dealership, a radio station, MCG (Medical College of Georgia) and the teevee station. The proceeds went to the Childrens hospital. For the amount and calibre of sponsors, we only ended up making less than 100 Cotton Candies.. rather dissapointing turnout for such a big production on a great day.

After Church tomorrow, we are going over to Aurthur Shealy’s moms house. While the girls and their friends are swimming, Arthur is going to make a strawberry sorbet with fresh picked strawberries.

Here is a picture of Rockwell at Church. Seems like he is pretty happy, ehe?

Here is a picture of Hannah and Melinda fooling around on the couch. I really hope they always get along as well as they do at this age…. What are my odds? Any experienced people willing to tell?

Sorry about the lack of posts, but I just got back from the City of Las Vegas (or Lost Wages, if you prefer)

No, I was not there to gamble… I did not even drop a single quarter. I was there for the National Assn of Broadcasters (NAB) convention. Where video people like myself get to see all of the latest equipment and innovations in teevee land. It was interesting. .. sort of. I can tell you that, compared to previous conventions, the internet madness has died down and we are back to “normal”.

I need to get a couple pictures to share with you! So, again, since I have no pictures, I will default to Geneology…

Here is an example of some post cards I collect on Ebay. Its a post card of “Elser Pier” in miami Fl. It was torn down long ago. There are many different examples of this post card. I have found 5 different pictures so far. I have no idea if it is named after a relative or not, but its neat all the same.

Ever wonder where you fall on the political spectrum? Check this page out www.politicalcompass.org Its a short quiz. I scored right next to the Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela, and Gandhi. Jeez… Its sort of hard to be humble with company like that! But I’ll try.

Tonight was the first night of the 40 days of purpose at our Church. It looks like its going to be interesting. One thing that jumped out at me was

“in your lives you must think and act like Christ Jesus.” Phil. 2:5

I have to ask. What Would Jesus Do about Iraq? About Israel? About America? About the poor? Does your answer match with how America is dealing with these issues?

Are American Christians asking themselves these questions?

While we are doing OK, I think we can do a WHOLE LOT BETTER…

Nothing real special going on, and I’m at a bit of a loss for something to post… SO I guess I’ll default to a bit of geneology.

Here is a classic that any Elser should not do without. It is great grand father Rudolph Elser and the family, circa ~1880. (The original family emigrated to America in 1869, coming over on the Ship “the Westfalia” . (picture taken in the states- Probably Chicago) (click on picture for large version to download.)

And here is a cool ebay aqisition.. It is a small shot glass from the Chicago worlds fair, Columbian exposition. Its over 100 years old. It is signed “Carrie Elser”. And is from the “shrine temple” on Michigan avenue, the worlds tallest building at the time. Carrie is the little girl on Anna’s lap in the middle of the above picture. Our “Cousin” Carrie would have been about 15 years old at the time, and was in Chicago. I will assume it is our Carrie! Kinda’ neat.
