We went bowling this week. I owed H since she got her yellow belt in Karate. (I’ll scan the certificate somewhere along the line) M bowls a bit slow, even with a 6# ball. It takes a while to get there, so she is resting while she watches.

R didn’t bowl, but he sure likes the big colorful balls!

While H was at a friends house swimming, R and M and I made a Lincoln log building… Or perhaps tower? Its not often you get to build a Lincoln log building taller that you are!

K’s dad came over last weekend to help put the siding up on the garage… Its going to look real good. When I’m done, I’ll add some pictures of it.

M had another B-day! They just keep coming! It was a tea party birthday.

The kids had lots of fun. K set up the party in the nursery at church..It was quite a setup!

R has discovered books. books, books, books. There are a couple of books that are going to disappear pretty soon. Including one about cats playing hide and seek. I’ll hide THAT one all right…
Fortunately, We can employ older sisters to read to him too. ๐Ÿ™‚

R is on a mission. We visited the farmers market in downtown Augusta this day, and R wandered..

Here are the pirates that found the treasure chest in our front yard.. They had to find some other clues, then decode a cryptogram using those clues to find it, and they succeeded.. I was impressed.

R blowing bubbles (.MOV 250kb ) This video is of R next to the pool of a neighbor.. Can you believe how much water a diaper will hold? Either that or R has a big booty! (After I posted this and watched the video, I noticed Mary doing a face plant in the background.. she was ok… too funny!)

I forgot to give credit for a R birthday present…. His Aunt Verna sent him a toy truck, and his Aunt Melinda sent all of the them some books and card games. H had all the books read right away, and read them to M later that night. (Am I forgetting someone? I guess I have to ask K! sorry ;o )

posting pics via blogspot has stopped working, so less pics lately…
I’ll try and fix it when I have time.

We purchased the piece of property (1/4 acre fenced in lot) behind us. The deal between K and I was, We buy that and we get to have chickens. (For some reason K has become interested in real estate lately)
Anyway!
Here is the Nxxx Axxx municipal code concerning fowl:

Sec. 5-12. Keeping domestic fowl generally.
It shall be unlawful for any person to keep, possess or have in custody any chickens, turkeys, ducks, guineas, geese, pheasants, pigeons or other domestic fowl that will, because of noise, odors or flies, or otherwise, tend to impair health or disturb the peace, quiet and comfort of nearby residents or occupants of places of business. The board of health shall have the right, power and privilege, through its agents and employees, to inspect the premises where any fowl are kept, and to hold hearings and issue orders in the same manner and for like purpose as provided by section 5-20.
(Ord. No. 82-12, ร‚ยง 1, 6-22-82)

Sweet! as long as we don’t piss off the neighbors, we get to have chickens! They say that as long as you give each chicken 10 feet of space, you can’t smell them, even in the coop.
This ordinance is really an interesting thing, because NA is know to be super strict on their code enforcement. Contractors constantly complain about working in NA… But they allow fowl and some livestock. Go figure. (I’m not complaining!)

WooHOO! Hanmelroc have a new cousin. Welcome EVIA MICHELE VANDERCAR (pronounced ee-va) for the continuing story, see Verna’s website.

We just came back from a week in Folly Beach, SC. It was a bit rainy, but it was stereotypical beach. With all the activities like clamming and such. We even visited Fort Sumter, the site of the beginning of the civil war in Charleston harbor.

Cousins on the beach.

I think it is mandatory that you fly a kite when you vacation on the beach.

Cousins, part 2- Lars from Switzerland (for his story, visit swisstales.com )

Aww, another closeup of Lars. How cute can a kid be?

Deep frying a turkey.. Hey, we DO live in the south, ya’ know… And we are proud of it!

Ready for the patriotic parade and picnic at church.

M had the sweet ride, in my opinion. How many times can one be asked “where did you get that tricycle”?

OK, I had to get into the act. So sue me…

H and her patriotic bike.

And to finish it off, R comes up the back. I have to say, we were the most patriotic!
