Hannah and Melinda had a thing they call “write night” at their school, where they invite the parents to come and write a letter to their kids. Neat idea. Usually sorta’ limited turnout.
This evening there was quite a good turnout, as it was a “starry night” theme with telescopes, hot chocolate (needed, because it was cold! ~40.. brr) and a bonfire (that no one was allowed to stand near..ha).

The local science center/observatory lent the school 5 refractor telescopes (nothing special) but it was neat to look at bright objects like, oh.. The moon with?

Even Rockwell thought looking at the moon was pretty neat.

(actual picture taken tonight)

Here is a picture that I really produced poorly. Hello Ed, the fire was part of the picture and you covered it up showing Melinda’s scrunched up face.
So far this might be the poorest picture on the whole 4 years of the blog.

Later, the girls and I played eye spy… Tonight we ended up finding games on the shelf in the girls room with two letters together in the name of the game… This was down right strange.. Who knew there were so many??

Sorry
Chutes and ladders
Cootie
Hullabaloo
Cariboo
Guess Who
Boggle
Yahtzee
Ello
Connect Four
Chess
Backgammon

Its a two letter conspiracy!

Along with the girls, I take a friends son to school every morning.. That boy, Cameron, had his 8th birthday party recently. He had a bowling party, and we had lots of fun. Here is Hannah.. “If I keep bowling like that, I’ll never reach 300!”

Melinda couldn’t wait to get back and pick up the spare…

And here is Rockwells first time at bowling! He did really well. (click on the picture for a QuickTime movie ~5meg)

As you all know, James Brown, “the godfather of soul” died recently. He was from these parts, and will really be missed. Kathi took R to the statue. Here is Rockwell hanging out near his statue downtown, With all of the memorial flowers and gifts around it.

We are considering renting the upstairs apartment out for masters… This is one of the pictures I took of it.

The girls printed out some fingernails from the computer, and got creative…

Here is yet but one more of Melindas collections.

And yet another one.

Kathi “hosted” a princess party for Melinda and a couple of her best friends from school last Friday.. Just for fun.

Here is one of the last pictures of R with long hair. Personally, I like it long..

Here is one of Rock with short hair. I suppose he looks fine either way.

Have any of you seen the youtube videos titled “will it blend”? They are pretty funny, IMO. (click here for a link to one of them) Anyway, Hannah thought of her own combination they aught to try in the blender. (click on the picture for a QuickTime movie ~5M)

Does this count as “updating my blog”?

Hannah found a cheap 35mm Camera at a resale shop that she wanted, it set her back a whole dollar. In the process of finding film for it, I found two old rolls that were unidentified.
Off to the photostore! When we got them back, we found out they were from when Melinda was a baby, and Hannah was Rockwells age. (about 5 years ago) Film that sits open that long deteriorates, so, sorry for the quality.. But its fun to see old pictures that you never knew you had. Here are a couple. Hannah use to love this swing. She could not go high enough. Seriously. She was not a normal 3+ year old.

Melinda, dressing up for us. This is just the beginning…

Here is Hannah on the trike.. I had to attach blocks to the pedals for her to reach them.

My, what big eyes you have.

Sorry Rockwell, no pictures of you this time. At this point, you were just a gleam in your fathers eye. 😉
