We had “Rally Day” at the Luther Point at the lake. It was old fashioned fun. (you can click on all these for a larger photo.)

At this point, Pastor had the Kids gather some water from the lake. His sermon was about baptism. The kids took the buckets around to the parishioners, and we made the sign of the cross with wet fingers on our foreheads.

This is actually setting up for the service..

Here we are singing some hymns while facing that beautiful lake scene.. You will have to suffer through my singing in most of it, since i am close to the mic! But its sort of fun all the same. We really should do more events like this at the lake.

Two weeks ago, The Church next to our house had a “water day” where they got a bunch of inflatable water slides, had popcorn and sno-kones (25 cents!), and Christian bands on the back of a flatbed trailer. A fun day! And all within about 700 feet of our house! Gotta’ like that.

Aww, posing for a picture before they slide down.

Rockwell got a snake, Melinda got a butterfly.

This weekend, we went to the Cole Bros. Circus in downtown Augusta. Again, for free as I got comp tickets to it from work.. Hmm. I am beginning to get the reputation as “cheap” with my kids.
good. heh.
I have to say, it was fun. a better show than they had in 2007.

Oh, but before we went, we went to sno-cap drive in to eat. (hmm.. we used gift certificates that the kids got for babysitting a neighbors dog.. Perhaps this “cheap! thing has some legs! 🙂 )

THEN we went to the circus!

Here was the circus parade between shows. The elephants and the camels were in the acts.

I was really impressed with their tight wire act. probably the best I have seen.

And here are the motorcycle daredevils.. Unfortunately, I caught it just as the bottom of the ball was coming up. at one point, it was 4 or 5 feet below the rest of the ball! neat.

And the picture you all have been wondering about.. here is Melinda’s burn, 13 days after the event itself. (you can click for a closeup)
