Happy Birthday Rockwell

Our youngest is now 7 y/o.. How time flies. Happy birthday son. We love you.
He received a package in the mail from His Godfather Chris and Aunt Peggy, and His grandma Elser. He looks forward to getting gifts from Chris & Peg, because he knows its going to have something to do with cars.

We visited a waterpark near Charleston SC. to celebrate. It was a lot of fun! here is “the tree house” it has this huge bucket on top that fills up with water, and every 15 minutes or so, a bell rings, and the bucket dumps. I should have asked how many gallons are in that thing.. Its a lot.

Not too many pictures from my camera.. because my computer wont acknowledge my SD card.. arrg. sigh.

Hights

Here is the tree house we built.. finally up in the tree! Another way that my kids can hurt themselves… But so far, they are really having fun with it. They are having a picnic in it as we speak.. Hot dogs chips and a drink.
I meant it to look precarious, but it is not. I can jump up and down in it, and it wont even swing the branch. Its in a Oak tree, and boy, is that tree hard.
If you don’t remember the previous post concerning this… Its built mostly out of scrap lumber I pulled out of the house when I was rebuilding the rooms. I cut up the ceiling joists for most of it, and I found some scrap plywood for the rest. The only thing purchased was the siding (50% of it) and the roofing, some special pieces of wood (like the side pieces to the ladder) and the nuts and bolts its assembled with. other than that, its from wood that I had been collecting just for this purpose. Turned out pretty good I would say! The remainder of the wood that was left over, I sold on Kraigs list. I got around 30$ for it. They guy that purchased it was also building a play house for his kids.

Ok, this one is going to get me in trouble. I did not intend to let them do this.. but they climbed up and wanted me to take a picture. They were more stable than I thought they would be. As Melinda demonstrates. 🙂

Birthdays and stuff

Well, sorta’ forgot to wish Hannah a happy 12th birthday last week here on the blog (Not that she reads it).

Happy Birthday sweetheart!

So, Last weekend, there was a concert called the “Banjo-b-que” here in North Augusta. Lots of barbecue, and some serious Bluegrass names. This turns out to be Hannah’s first official “concert” she has attended. One of the headliners we saw was the Old Crow Medicine Show.. They were pretty Good! I’m going to have to pay more attention to them.

And the main headliner was the man himself, Ricky Skaggs. He really put on a show. Hard to believe he has been playing for 40+ years already.

Here is a Nannyrama. It was a nice stage, and we were close.

Later in the week we went out to eat. Of course, the desert was the highlight. Jeez, is that piece of cake big enough?
