Kathi said that Hannah got into a special class at school called “Reef Ecology”. Evidently, part of the class actually has them out snorkeling the reefs! From what I understand, only a few students got into it, and only a few schools got the funding for it.
Their new address for the next six months:
6080 Questa Verde
Christiansted, VI 00820 unit #F37
They start school today. I’m sure we will hear how its going soon. I hope it’s a positive experience for them. I am sure they will have some useful life experience no matter what.
Edit.
OK, so little more info. The school HannaH is going to is “St Croix Country Day School“. ITs a college prep school, but you go home at the end of the day. We are still considering if we can afford it. I guess we will do without for a little while, at least to allow Hannah to experience that, and let us know how it is.
And while you are at it, you could tray to skype Kathi.. her skype address is “Kathi.Elser“.
Ill let you know more about Melinda and Rockwells school when I get it.
We spent Christmas together in St. Croix USVI this year. When I get back I will load pictures.. (slow connection, and.. I cant get my pics off my camera. 🙁 )
Here is one from Kath’s facebook;
Sorry Kath, you will have to wait for me to get home to see one with you in it.
I have some good ones!
Anyway, looking forward to being back and getting some work done. Not looking forward to being away from the kids. I’m flying out tomorrow morning.
Anyone want to give me a ride from Atlanta?
Kath has an account on this blog now, hopefully I can talk her into posting from here.
Melinda is not going to have much time to use her Christmas Gift, so she is getting as much use in as she can.
I know she is holding the bow string strangely.. I think that was just to get it past the hard part? She has not gotten used to using the finger release (that is around her wrist)
I was cleaning out the car and found this. This is indiciative of how organized Melinda naturally is:
And Rockwell was bumped up into the older kids race. This means he was up against two 9yo boys and two 10yo boys. (where as before he was against girls and boys his age and less.)
Three races: He came in second twice and third once! I was actually looking forward to this being done. I was wondering how he would perform under pressure. He did great.
I also have a picture of Melinda! She was with us at the race. Since it was the last race of the season, they had a bonfire at the track too.
It’s a long story, but we fell into a great deal on a compound bow, a bunch of arrows, and an really nice wall mounted hanger for it all. Melinda has wanted a bow for over a year, and when she saw this one, she wouldn’t stop looking at it. I had to buy it. Here She is showing off her Early Christmas present in front of a bonfire. She did not set it down for an hour.
OK, Here are some pictures I did not show you from Halloween this year.. these pics where stuck in my camera in the resident memory, and did not come out when I downloaded the card.. Better late than never?
Here is Hannah’s costume.. Again, she takes her costumes to a special level…
I don’t think Melinda has scary in her… Remind me of that comment a couple years from now. She will prove me wrong I’m sure.
Here is just a cool picture of the day (or night as the case may be) All the pictures get bigger if you click on them.
I have been busy with the kids and stuff lately..Rockwell had BMX practice this Friday and a Race this Saturday, AND, he was in the Columbia County Christmas parade with the BMX group yesterday.. it was a three day BMX weekend.
Melinda and Hannah were there too, Here is Melinda watching the talent during the newscast of the parade.
AND, I dont have any pictures of it, but Melinda tried out for one of the 15 slots in the talent show (Evidently 40+ kids are trying out) and got in! She was very excited. Her and a friend are doing a dance to AJ and Ally’s “whoa”. Ill make sure to record it. The contest is this Thursday.
Here is a article that was in the local paper (The North Augusta Star) I thought it was quite an article! (The north Augusta Elementary mascot is a dolphin.)
A candid pic before we walked down to the boyscout hut so Rockwell could compete in the rain-gutter regatta. Talk about some short hair, ehe? and the haircut is two weeks old!
After all is said and done, the trophies are presented! Rockwell came in 2nd in the pack.
