Christmas in St. Croix

We spent Christmas together in St. Croix USVI this year. When I get back I will load pictures.. (slow connection, and.. I cant get my pics off my camera. 🙁 )

Here is one from Kath’s facebook;

Sorry Kath, you will have to wait for me to get home to see one with you in it.

I have some good ones!

Anyway, looking forward to being back and getting some work done. Not looking forward to being away from the kids. I’m flying out tomorrow morning.

Anyone want to give me a ride from Atlanta?

Kath has an account on this blog now, hopefully I can talk her into posting from here.

Hope everyone had a great holiday. See you soon.

Activities this weekend

I have been busy with the kids and stuff lately..Rockwell had BMX practice this Friday and a Race this Saturday, AND, he was in the Columbia County Christmas parade with the BMX group yesterday.. it was a three day BMX weekend.

Melinda and Hannah were there too, Here is Melinda watching the talent during the newscast of the parade.

AND, I dont have any pictures of it, but Melinda tried out for one of the 15 slots in the talent show (Evidently 40+ kids are trying out) and got in! She was very excited. Her and a friend are doing a dance to AJ and Ally’s “whoa”. Ill make sure to record it. The contest is this Thursday.

Here is a serendipitous picture. This one was not posed.. I just happened upon it. The kids where in the tree at Arthur’s house eating plums that they had picked.

And this is a makeup picture.. somewhere around Christmas. Rockwell had won a art contest at school, and had his clay dish (the purple one) displayed at the city hall. I have another artist?

Fall fun in SC

Well, here are some of the things we do in SC in the fall.

Melinda is a cheer leader for the “Cowboys” football team. She is the “flyer”. That’s to say, the one that gets to be on the top of the pyramid. I guess that is special!

I caught Rockwell playing in the tree house singing a familiar song, so I asked him to sing it again..

Melinda and I built another contraption.. Melinda called this one the “tri-mo-cycle”.. seemed appropriate. this video shows it in action, but, no kidding, the battery is almost dead, you should see it go with a full battery! (12 volts to 6 volt motors). Hannah came out around this time and Melinda told her the name of it. Hannah said “What? Trauma cycle!?”

OK, I cant help but think of that now…! 🙂

Hights

Here is the tree house we built.. finally up in the tree! Another way that my kids can hurt themselves… But so far, they are really having fun with it. They are having a picnic in it as we speak.. Hot dogs chips and a drink.
I meant it to look precarious, but it is not. I can jump up and down in it, and it wont even swing the branch. Its in a Oak tree, and boy, is that tree hard.
If you don’t remember the previous post concerning this… Its built mostly out of scrap lumber I pulled out of the house when I was rebuilding the rooms. I cut up the ceiling joists for most of it, and I found some scrap plywood for the rest. The only thing purchased was the siding (50% of it) and the roofing, some special pieces of wood (like the side pieces to the ladder) and the nuts and bolts its assembled with. other than that, its from wood that I had been collecting just for this purpose. Turned out pretty good I would say! The remainder of the wood that was left over, I sold on Kraigs list. I got around 30$ for it. They guy that purchased it was also building a play house for his kids.

Ok, this one is going to get me in trouble. I did not intend to let them do this.. but they climbed up and wanted me to take a picture. They were more stable than I thought they would be. As Melinda demonstrates. 🙂
