Memorial Day

Rockwell at the memorial park. He will appreciate the significance one day. Today is not the day.. Memorials are just cool things to climb on..:)
It occurs to me that this is a memorial to the confederate soldiers, and not really the union soldiers. Sort of an interesting concept, no? This is not a memorial to my union ancestors. I have to go north for that.

Here is to all of the people that have sacrificed in so many ways for the “American way” May their sacrifice not go to waste.

bluegrass concert

Hannah and I went to the “Banjo-B-que” in North Augusta at the hippodrome last night.

We got to see Old Crow medicine Show up close! We also saw this group.. I have never seen a fiddle used as a dulcimer before.. it sounded great.

Here is a serendipitous picture. This one was not posed.. I just happened upon it. The kids where in the tree at Arthur’s house eating plums that they had picked.

And this is a makeup picture.. somewhere around Christmas. Rockwell had won a art contest at school, and had his clay dish (the purple one) displayed at the city hall. I have another artist?

We visited Aquaduct Park again..What a wonderful secret swimming hole.

OK, Time to catch up on a couple pictures.
Here is one of Rockwell taking stuff apart. He has found a new hobby…

Melinda won the art contest for the whole 4th grade! (click on picture to make it bigger)

On our way to church Easter morning.. Don’t they look nice?

Just what I need; Another Project.

I just couldn’t pass it up. Its a anomaly, an oddity. Its a small electric car that is street legal. It is fully titled as a motor vehicle. All I need to do is fix the brakes, and buy 6, 6volt batteries.
Kathi threatened Hannah with making it her first car.
Its a 1974 Citicar. Believe it or not, Thousands of them were sold in the 70’s. But then in the late 70’s, they were found to be unsafe, and that pretty much killed the company. But it will go anywhere as long as you don’t have to get there faster thqan40mph, and as long as its not more than a 40 mile trip. I’m guessing the actual performance is not quite that good, but it should be fun no matter.

Melinda the poet

Here are a couple of poems/rhymes that Melinda wrote recently. She is a stealth academic.. She is a star student, but she works under the radar.. I need to acknowledge her more.

So, just where is that update?

I figured I would wait until the end of may to post again…

(just kidding Verna And Beck! You both have rightiously scolded me.. I am set back on path now. 🙂 )

I have a folder full of pictuers to post, and I just can’t bring myself to do it. I have no excuses, I’m just lazy I guess.

Here is just one to tide you over. Off of my cell phone. Hannah using the Plasma cutter to cut out a pattern she came up with. Next I need to show you the finished product I guess!
