Ready for the Costume contest at the Jacko-lantern Jubilee!
Lots of people this year. It still was not very commercial. Of course, the commercialism is not advanced by the Churches giving everything away, as evidenced by the red sign! For those that have not visited, our house is directly across the street on the right side of the big mansion in the center of the picture.
The city paid for the entertainment this year.. all the attractions were..FREE! (OK, my taxes paid, but I thought it was a worthwhile investment!) Here is something that seems like a throwback.. how many street fairs or carnivals still have booths with sharp darts? Click here to see Hannah playing the Dart Game Here is one of Hannah’s many trips up the climbing wall. I even tried my luck. It was easier than it looks.. If you can climb a ladder, you can climb this wall.
This is the first time Melinda has tried the wall. She was going up it like a monkey, until her friend either couldn’t or wouldn’t go up any more, so Melinda wouldn’t go up anymore either.
This bouncing thing is cool. I gotta find a couple of fiberglass rods like this to make one! Rockwell is saying , “Hey, give me some tension so I can get this thing going!” He had fun.
Hannah got some serious air.. and it was a flip on every other bounce.
Melinda was determined to do a flip! She tried so hard! She got one in just as they were lowing the tension.
And finally. When I went to load the dart game video, I found another one that I forgot to link to. Click here to see Kathi playing the crane game at an arcade.

Kath had adopted the squirrel out to our upstairs tenant.. (That is why you have not hear too much about her) But she came down to visit during dinner this afternoon.
We went and purchased some pumpkins today. Not sure what got into Melinda, but it was funny, whatever it was.
Rockwell, gathering the pumpkins. He couldn’t decide which one he wanted.
Hannah, proud of her selection. I bet that one will be a challenge to clean out! I dont think we have ever gotten a pumpkin that large before.
I sorta like this picture of Melinda. You can almost see what she will look like when she is a little older? She is quite pretty, if I say so myself.

Hannah traced Rockwell with some Lincoln logs.

H took these books (
Lemony Snicket )out around the October 1st. She had them finished, >2000 pages, 6 days later. Since it seemed a little excessive, and I was slightly suspicious, I even went through them and asked her questions.. She had them all down.
So, what do we do, we go back to the library, and she takes out 18 Nancy drew books. Jeash!
Ok, one bummer about having kids that love to go to the library, and a Dad that is a bit flighty? I have paid over $100 in late fees just this year alone! 🙂

Ok, so Melinda and I are in the garage, and talking about what bugs we could collect.. Rockwell overheard us and said, “Can I catch bugs!?” I told him sure.. No kidding, not 30 seconds later, he has this guy. This thing is huge. The picture is only slightly over sized. (The paper tags are 1 inch) Good catch Rockwell!
We have determined that the only bummer about collecting bugs is, well, you gotta’ kill ’em.

I prepared these a week ago.. I guess Ive been getting lazy about posting.
A couple weekends ago we went to a friends birthday party at putput.
It looked like a lot of fun!
Not too long ago, we visited the geocache that David, whit, Hannah and I put in a tree in the woods in 2005.
The trek to get there:
“Is this the right tree?”
There it is! Untouched for almost 2 years! Unvisited since I lost the coordinates for it, and dont have a GPS, so I can’t load it onto geocaching.com (We initially loaded it but they reefused it since we mentioned that “we attached a clue to a stair step” attaching anything to anything is a no-no in geocache land, I guess.
