We are donating the use of the Cotton Candy machine to the Trinity youth group. They are going to sell it at the “Relay for Life” event tonight at the high school.

I’m surprised I have not had any takers for the trivia question on the garden blog. It’s not THAT hard. Or do yall just not like boiled Peanuts??

Today is Hannah’s last full day of school. I wonder what we are going to do this summer? No big plans as of right now.

I think I will dedicate today’s post to Mi Bella Melinda.

Here is a picture of her just being cute.

Here is a picture of her playing with the animals in the ark Grandma Elser gave them for Christmas this year. And- being cute.

And here is a picture of Mel sporting the earrings her cousin Cori sent her in the mail (BOY- do they like getting things in the mail!) I think Melinda will have claimed all the goodies in the box that you sent before Hannah gets home, Cori..

OK, I suppose it cant ALL be about Melinda today… So I will include a couple of Roc pics.

Here he is, just doing what comes naturally -PLAYING! (Again, with the wood animals from the Ark)

And here he is, being a good Southern Boy.. Eating Grits! He LOVES grits almost as much as Melinda does. Note: We have eaten more grits in the last 6 months of my life, that I have even SEEN in the last 39 years of my life!

I just got grief about referencing that commercial “Its exactly what they want you to do… You are helping them advertise!”

Yes, Yes… You are right… To try and negate the affects a bit, I have edited the previous post and removed the company name and industry……

I should mention for friends/family not in the US… the “implying how smart hannah was” Refers to a commercial where a mom sees her daughters science experiment on a video cell phone- Her Daughter “switches the brains” of her son and her dog. Hence, Rock “scratching his ear”..

Dropped Hannah off at achool this morning, and then ate breakfast at the school.. With Melinda!

Kids are great. Everyone should have one.

Hannah’s “kindergarten graduation” was today. I was all excited about posting a movie of her singing here… Until I realized that there was no disk in my camera when I got to the school. Darn!

Then, as I left, I remembered I had my cell phone with a CAMERA. I can be so absent minded some times.

SO, instead, you get a parody movie implying how smart Hannah is now 🙂

(Click on picture for QuickTime movie. (Go here if you don’t have the player. Its free, and not obnoxious like real player if you know what I mean)

I am honored with y’alls dedication… I looked at the web page statistics (you can see them here If you like, click on the month to see details) and it appears the Elser family blog has a respectable following… >700 hits last month. I don’t have it listed in any search engines, and as a matter of fact, I have it excluded in my “robots.txt” file. What’s that, you ask? Well, all of the legitimate search engines will not index directories that you ask to be excluded from the search engines, and the “robots.txt” file is how you do that.

If you want to have a little fun, you can go to other peoples web pages and look at what THEY are trying to hide, by putting in “www.xxx.com/robots.txt” .It can be fun sometimes.

For instance, here is Ebay’s robots page. You just have to wonder why the “Disney” directory is excluded…

Oh well, enough techy stuff, Here is a silly picture for a Monday.

Here is Rock showing off his new shirt that his Godmother Teri sent him from Switzerland ( I think is says “I am the little light (sunshine?) of the family” )

Here is Hannah showing off scarves from Paris France, sent Via Switzerland by Her Aunt Teri

I guess today was dress up day! Earlier, Melinda was dressed as a witch, but this time she is a bunny.

I don’t know where Melinda gets her hair… But it sure does wacky things. Actually, it is quite straight.. I think she will like it when she gets older. I predict that she will wear it long.

And, I received my prize for guessing the right answer to the trivia question on Teri’s blog (swisstales.com) Fines Swiss chocolates.. Which were quickly claimed by the women in my family. Thanks Teri. Put the chocolate in a envelope with Kathi’s name on it. What were you thinking? Next time a plain brown wrapper with my name only! 🙂

So- I’m at Advance auto parts. I point to the picture and say:

“I need the wiper blades for THAT car, a pre 1967 beetle with a flat windshield.”

The guy looks at the picture, then looks on the computer and says:

“sorry, we can’t get those for you.”

And I say:

“isn’t that a bit ironic that you use a car in your advertisements that you don’t carry parts for?”

And parts guy says:

“Its par for the course”

I smile, and leave.

Another link has been added on the right! Elan Coy, Shelly’s Fiance’ started a blog. Now that I have linked to it, he will have to keep it up. 🙂 For any of you that want to know what its like to be a twenty-something in the new century, I suppose it might give you some insight.

I still have not taken a picture of the decimated sisters garden… You should have seen it… Not only was the corn knocked over, the stalks were flat! But I drove by yesterday, and half the corn is standing right back up and is fine! Nature is a incredible thing, no?

I visited Hannah’s “CCC” lab today. That’s the lab where they spend 10-15 minutes on computers each day, and it evaluates where they are in the curriculum. According to the teacher, Hannah is at 1.31 in math, and 1.51 in reading. Which is first grade level. She is doing fine. The teacher said they are getting new computers next year. Evidentially the old ones are 8 years old. She said that she has been there 18 years, and this is only the third time that they are being replaced.. They last an average of 9 years… I have to say, that is a pretty good investment. Who would have thought that computers would have been a good investment? Not me.

Here is a funny picture.

I Got a call from Arthur today. He said he planted a tomato plant in the spot where the damaged sisters plot. He said it was a tomato plant that he bought mailorder. He bought it because it said it was a tomato “tree” and didn’t need to be staked. Well- He received it in the mail, and it… Said it needs to be staked! Go figure. I have not made it over there yet, but I will be sure to take a picture of it when I do.
