Lots of Lutheran churches here, BTW… And Verna asked about the kids being happy here;  I think they are. they made friends already, and I think its  going to  be a grand adventure if they behave. I hope they don’t drive Kath crazy.. that would make the adventure not as good.

I’m going home tomorrow morning… My adventure is almost over.

Wait till you see some of the pictures we took today! A huge boa constrictor, some cool turtles,  a wild Iguana, all in one day.

I had a dream- “Unfettered Canvas”

It was sort of weird.. Kathi had moved into a house in the woods. It was abandoned, and grown over, but when you went inside it was beautiful, like made for a magazine, with moss in the right places and the furniture was old but had a nice wax finish. Even the outside was perfect. Grown over, but in a way that it was like out of a magazine or a place where faeries would live.  But it was clear to us that this (beautiful house) was abandoned. I remember wondering, “but what happens when the real owners figure out that this house is so nice?”

Then, I forget what happened, but somewhere along the line I had an art studio called “unfettered canvas”

What? Where did that come from? I had never heard that before in my life… Amazing that I even remember a name that came out of a dream.. Usually it’s ” dang, what was that thing in the dream?? It was a great idea/plan/name etc.”

I might have to go with that name, even though I don’t use “canvas” per-se.

A girl and her Chicken

Melinda took her chicken to church yesterday. (Actually, just Sunday school, she had to leave it in the car during church.) Rockwell was upset he could not take his.. “one at a time, she asked first”. sigh. What strange problems I have. Anyway, it was calm and caused no issues. actually, since she had it wrapped up, you did not even know she had it unless you where paying attention.

The Future is now.

So, after the Makerfaire convention in New York that we (sort of) attended (virtually), we were excited to get our Arduino micro-controller kit in the mail.

The first thing we did was flash an LED..More fun than you might expect, simply because you can change the flash rate, and change the persistance and see how fast you can flash it before you are just really effectively adjusting the brightness.

Then the next challenge was to load a program that played the first few notes of “mary had a little lamb”. Interesting, not complicated, as it was programmed already for you.

But then the interesting part. Hannah went into the program, and programmed the rest of the song into it.

Now that’s what I’m talking about! That’s the first step to WAY bigger things. Neat!

So, just where is that update?

I figured I would wait until the end of may to post again…

(just kidding Verna And Beck! You both have rightiously scolded me.. I am set back on path now. 🙂 )

I have a folder full of pictuers to post, and I just can’t bring myself to do it. I have no excuses, I’m just lazy I guess.

Here is just one to tide you over. Off of my cell phone. Hannah using the Plasma cutter to cut out a pattern she came up with. Next I need to show you the finished product I guess!

A little Late

I have many pictures to post, and stories to tell, I guess.. Since the last post I went to Omaha, Hannah has been playing volleyball, Melinda Cheered her team on, and many other things. but mostly I have been very busy at work, and when I get home, I just want to relax… Ill get some pictures for yall soon.

Happy Birthday Rockwell

Our youngest is now 7 y/o.. How time flies. Happy birthday son. We love you.
He received a package in the mail from His Godfather Chris and Aunt Peggy, and His grandma Elser. He looks forward to getting gifts from Chris & Peg, because he knows its going to have something to do with cars.

We visited a waterpark near Charleston SC. to celebrate. It was a lot of fun! here is “the tree house” it has this huge bucket on top that fills up with water, and every 15 minutes or so, a bell rings, and the bucket dumps. I should have asked how many gallons are in that thing.. Its a lot.
