We went to the beach last weekend to camp. This picture tells the story of our life.
(can you figure out what I mean?)
don’t know how much longer I’ll be able to do this kind of stuff. Guess I aught to enjoy it while I can.
Can you guess who the future plumbers Local#072001 member is?
Just thought this picture was strange, what with the reflection and the shadow. Could probably calculate a lot from this photo.. What angle I took the shot from, what time of day, How high she jumped… Etc.
Aww. One for the recordbooks.
Yes, they did swim. I actually went in too! Strange how it warms up once your in.
Kath chaperoned Hannah’s Class to visit the statehouse in the capital of SC, Columbia.
You cant tell, but the girls are staring at the confederate battle flag the took off the dome and put out front in 2000.
I should know who they are standing in front of, but I don’t.
They went to the state museum too. How come this mammoth looks like it is wrapped in fake fur?

OK, So, We are sitting at the dinner table and Hannah says she needs new glasses. ( BTW, She has taken decent care of her first ones.. We will likely simply get a new prescription.) Melinda proceeds to make a defamatory comment about glasses and Kath says, “I wouldn’t say too much Melinda, Mommy and Daddy wear glasses, Chances are you and Rockwell will need them too”
A moment goes by.
Hannah proceeds to say “Mom, I know how I get your traits… But how do I get daddies Traits?..”

Rockwell went to the dentist this afternoon. He was a Very good boy, and didn’t fuss once. He even stood still for a full X-ray. Check this out, you can actually see the adult teeth that are underneath his baby teeth. How cool is that? The picture off to the right is his spine. They said he has been doing a fine job brushing, and to keep it up. They want us to floss his teeth too..? I thought he was a bit young for that?
Technology, aint’ it grand?

All the pictures are not very good this time.. They are all out of my cell phone. Some day, they will put real cameras in cell phones.
As a continuation of the bottle excavation story.. Here is a sampling of just a portion of the bottles we dug up.
Rockwieler has gotten the short end of the deal with pictures lately.. I suppose Ill try making it up.
Here he is having fun in one of the blow up carnival things (taken through a window, with the cell phone.. Extra bad. 🙂
R and I rode our bike to my work this weekend. Here R is at master control.. Don’t get any ideas Rockwell, I have hope you have higher aspirations than working in media!
Rockwell can finally ride the big trike. Well almost.. You can see his foot does not quite reach, But he compensates quite well.
Hannah and I were in the back yard, and there was a big carpenter bee flying around. I told H that the ones with the white forehead are males and don’t have a stinger (true) so we both tried catching one with our hands, but both of us chickened out every time we got close!! (I’m not believing those entomologist on NPR until I see it for myself I guess!) But H did not give up, and finally caught it with a bucket. Its true! They don’t have stingers!
While we were digging bottles, we came across a snake! It turns out it was an adult rough green snake common around these parts. I was careful to pick it up and check it out, but Hannah said “come on Dad! Its safe! Its just a little green snake!” Turns out she was right. PetCo even sells them as pets. I don’t think mom would have wanted a pet snake around though.. 🙂

Today was the NA Elementary carnival.. Lots of fun, and lots of cotton candy.
This could be an advertisement for CC!
This afternoon, Melinda was having a picnic in the back yard. Kathi said she would “feed” her dolls the “food”, and then throw the stuff in the spoon over her shoulder, and get some more for them… Because they “ate” it, of course.
Just by chance I came upon a bunch of old bottles sticking out of the dirt where some earth washed away off the side of a road, so I took Hannah there on her first “archeology dig”. She had lots of fun.. I suppose I did too! (I used to do this in the ditch in Evergreen park. I had a whole collection of interesting bottles in the garage on a shelf.. Heck, probably 100 of them… Until Dad took them to the flea market and sold them! (Actually he asked if he could and I told him sure… I wonder what he got for them?))
Hannah wants to know when we can go back.
Here are some of the treasures we found. The milk bottle says “SANCKEN’S DAIRIES, Augusta, Ga.” We also found a couple of McCoy pottery planters.
