“Luke” is Melinda’s 1969 Ford F-100. Fully Manual.
Its not easy. But she has been practicing a few months now, and she is really getting a hold of it. I can tell you there are few teenagers that could handle this truck. It’s a handful. I’m impressed. <3
This is the day where we get to visit all of Melinda’s classes and teachers. I did that, but we ended up having more fun in art class than anywhere else.
The teacher had us all work with clay. And that teacher had taught this process across the world (literally), so she had the process down. It was pretty funny listening to her actually.
In the process!
Some of the art Melinda was working on. I recognized them right away. The “Melinda with cheerios” picture from 2002, and Rockwell in the parkinglot with the Iguana 2013(?)
A bunch of us went hiking on a full moon night. There was Hannah, Larry, Nick and Kenya, and our new friend Julie. Amber saw us off, but had to go do something else. 🙁
We hiked from the boat launch over to the “quarry”.. That I did not even know existed!
I like this picture a lot! It was really dark, and we all laid our headlights on the ground near the camera trying to light up the scene. Fortunately Larry’s camera does a good job of processing.
Here is Julie.. hiking with a bunch of strangers. Adventurous soul! This was about 11pm at night, and the first person to meet her at the parking lot was Larry. He had a machete in his hand.. she probably should have run off right there.
Kathi had a party for Rockwell at the river (In the Pavilion)
We had fun riding bikes into the river. I tried it, and Rockwell tried it.
I think one other friend of Rockwell’s tried it. I was surprised all the others did not want to though.
We had fun all the same. Actually, it was a little too boisterous.. One boy fell out of a tree and broke his leg, and we had a storm roll though that blew everything around like crazy.
Melinda and Rockwell and I took a bike ride at the canal single track. I’ve ridden with a lot of folks, both of them ride better and more competently than they realize.
Hanging out under the Riverwatch bridge at the canal.
Was riding my bike early. I went under the new underpass at the north end of the Greene way. They had not cleared out all of the sandbags yet and I cought my back wheel on one and was thrown over the handlebars. (I was on the Fixie). Anyway, I dislocated my right hand ring finger.
I tired to straighten it out. No luck. I had to call Larry to come help me.. And even had Larry try and pull it out, but it wouldn’t go back in.
Had to go (have Larry take me) to the Emergency room. I HATE medical facilities because so far they are a complete ripoff. But, alas, I was stuck. (hopefully you are reading this in the future where we have legitimate medical care.. that would be nice, and to no thanks of “conservatives” I am sure.)
Here is the before Xray.
And after a shot of lidocane and a bill that would eventually be almost 3000$, Here is the result. It’s sorta fixed.
No real thanks to the PA.. he was lost.. I don’t think he has ever done this before. Than goodness there were no complications because I am sure they would have missed them. I would have Happily paid a couple hundred for the X-ray, and a shot of lidocane, and done the rest myself.
