Hannah SAT scores are in.

Hannah’s score from last months SAT test. 1700. (~1150 on the old scale) Pretty good for a Sophomore I would say. But will it be enough to get into SCGSSM? THAT is the question. I think she is in the ballpark.
🙂
Graduating seniors at SCGSSM average a 2000 score… (the highest average for any school in the state, BTW)

YALL fest 2013

3rd annual Young Adult Book festival in Charleston, SC. over 50 authors, over 25 NYT best selling authors! It’s the largest YA festival in the country. Hannah has a lot of books, and after the last two years of coming here, she has a lot of signed books!

I’ll have to get the names from her later, but I will load the pictures now…

As an aside, I just found this post from 7 years ago. (Nov, 2006)  The girl that is mentioned as her “competitor”? I’m almost positive it was Rossie, Hannah’s best friend in 8th Grade that moved to Charleston… They went to YALLfest together yesterday. Hannah stayed over at her house last night.

🙂

Hannah, showing off her new prizes.. The last two books of Harry Potter.
[parental boasting]
Hannah was the first person in the school to reach her pagemaster goal of 3000 pages. Almost 1000 of those were the small print in the HP books. Way to go Hannah! Interestingly enough, the second person to reach pagemaster was also in H’s class… And that is out of a school with over 700 kids in it. Also, she was the first person in her class to reach her AR points goal for the year. And finally, although trivial, she also won a quiz in the third grade answering who mark browns aardvark was (as Hannah said TOO easy- Arthur!)

I said to Kath.. “It seems Hannah is competitive” and she said “no way, she’s just her own person. She motivates herself”
In retrospect, she might be right. I would like that.

More Observations

I have lived here for ~11 years?

And I never realized the school bus would stop in front of the house.

Seriously.. I did not know that.

The problem is, it stops 45 minutes before school starts, and we live within walking distance.

There is probably some commentary to go along with the concept, but I will decline at this moment.
