The last 24 hours has been pretty Amazing. It’s going to be hard to beat this run of events. We did a Zombie walk last night with Makeup (Rockwell was feeling sick and did not want to go), we did the color run this morning, We did a “Improve Everywhere” MP3 Experiment this afternoon at 6pm, and then we went to the BMX track and competed there till quarter to nine. Great timing of events.. It was Awesome!
Zombies! We actually found a place down town that would put zombie makeup on for cheap! I should have had more done for what they where charging.. students learning makeup techniques i guess.

Watch out!

Melinda cant help being pretty, even as a zombie! lol.

The group! There where some really good costumes!

The pre-walk meeting.

At the end, the zombie leader thanked his minions.

Then, this morning, we did the Color Run!
This is quite fun.. Especially for 9am in the morning! Melinda about to enter Pink!

In the Pink gauntlet!

Melinda and Dad at the end.. This was after the color throws.

Clearly the best picture of the day!! Isn’t this an awesome picture of Melinda??

Check out this video of one of the “color throws” at the end.. they give you packets of tempra to toss in the air. fun!
And here are all of us later in the evening after the MP3 Experiment.. the kids had a BLAST doing this.. it was so much fun!

Nice picture of Melinda and I, right before hitting “play”!

Good looking kids, right after hitting play.

Rockwell. Need I say more.

We ended the night with some BMX. Melinda and Hannah’s race. This is the race where Hannah, Melinda’s friend, took a pretty nasty spill. Scraped up her hand, her elbow, her side and her knee.. but she STILL finished!! No one can say these girls are not tough!!

One of Rockwell’s heats. This was the very first race he used clips on his pedals. In the final heat he took a pretty nasty crash.. I think melinda was wondering it came in three’s at this point!! Everyone was OK in the end.

Walking it out from the shop! I gave them no quarter.. lol.

Tori just manhandles stuff. She is going to make a great boss some day.

Attaching the “Little free library” sign that they made yesterday.

Mounting it onto the post! They did it all.. I did not even help them carry it over. I was too busy taking pictures and video..smile.

Screwing it in!

Proud Accomplishment!!

Meredith designing the sign.

Tori was the first to try the Plasma torch! The others where a little leery, but Tor just jumped right in. To be honest, I was wondering how they where going to do.. but they were Awesome!

Melinda’s turn. They actually enjoyed doing it.

Mere’s turn. tehy all got to practice before they cut.. but they hardly really needed to, the really did well right off the bat.

Rockwell’s turn!

Rockwell grinding the excess off of the nuts holding the hinges. I smithed the hinges.. I meant to have the girls do that also, but we did not get a chance.

Here it is! I think it’s Awesome in all its rough beauty!

Happy Birthday to my Oldest Daughter.. Sweet 16! We had a lot of fun this weekend. We had the SuperHappy Block party (That, even though it was sort of rained out, was still a lot of fun), and we went to Carowinds amusements today.
Here is a video of us going into the Park and trolling the Parking attendant. she thought it was funny.. You cant see what happened, but she tried to scan the pass, and had to pull the scanner way back in order to read it.
Amber was not excited about her assignment. lol.

getting on the fighter jet ride!

A video of the wooden rollercoaster at Carowinds. It was the shortest line, and considering, pretty thrilling!
Near the end of the day. We all had fun.

Hannah texted Kathi and told her that Amber and I took off and left her in North Carolina.. Then when she called freaked out, Hannah texted her this picture. (The park is half in one state, half in the other.)

Waiting on the last ride. We are WORN OUT.

Afterwords we found the only culvers in the south! The Birthday angels were smiling on HannaH.

The day before we spend some time at the SUPERHAPPY BLOCK PARTY That was organized by my friends at the Clubhouse. It ultimately got rained out, but we still had some fun. Here is Hannah being silly.

Here is a Friend Chris Krug showing off his Turbine Minivan.. lol. (I made that CO2 powered model Racetrack (White strip) for the block party. I hope the rain did not wreck it so we can use it more…)

It’s been a theme between Hannah an Amber for a week now. Melinda posted a picture of her with green milk when they (Hannah and Amber) posted a picture of them eating at a Mexican restaurant.
Then, a few days later,
Then, this weekend,
Amber and Hannah also got together to make some pie. It turned out well! Excellent, actually. Oh, and they are goofballs
Hannah messing around at a Anime drawing class she takes. Or was this young makers? Hmm.. Now that I think about it, It was Young Makers.
Yesterday I ran with pastor Roy.. longest ever.. >8 miles. Some walking involved.

Also, on a side note, we have a new layer in the family. She lays blue eggs. sort of neat. I hope they get bigger than that though.
Hannah went to the VI with some family friends last week, while I had to work masters. It would appear they had a lot of fun. I, on the other hand, lost Hannah’s snake, Kinty, and was worried sick most of the week.
Hannah got a chance to dive at cane bay also.

Melinda getting a chance to play on the horses up in the hills.

Who gets to do stuff like this? Rockwell getting launched off the back of a horse into the carrabea ocean.

(little)Hannah and Melinda hanging out with some Moco Jumbies. I assume this is monday night.. They have parties on monday nights for some reason.

While they where away, I did one fun thing.. I went to a fancy corporate CBS Party.

You know its fancy when they hire a Cuban to make cigars for you. That is one way to get around the law I suppose…

Cori and Edo are here visiting! We like their company. We have gone to the clubhou.se a couple times, and we have eaten out, and we have made something in the forge: One more time.. Copper Roses!, They are so satisfying to make, even for beginners, that it makes it fun with out trying. We worked on these Wednesday. Here is Cori is hammering out the copper to make it flat. Edo is marking where he will cut with the plasma torch.

Here is Cori, cutting out her patterns with the plasma cutter!

Cori, Brazing the petals onto the stem.

Lets take a break and feed the chickens while everything cools off. (OK, I’m making things up now.)

Edo getting artistic on us.. you can tell by his expression.

Cori and her friend Amber made some roses too! I think this is rose number 3 for Hannah.

Definitely perfecting the petal shaping process.

ANNNND, somehow, I don’t have pictures of he finished products! I will make sure to get a picture before they leave.
Last night, while Edo and I sort of “jammed” (I played two chords on the banjo, and Ed played things around those two chords that made it actually sound like music.. very satisfying) Cori was helping Hannah create her “firewalker” shoes. They are going to be awesome! Here they are sewing the Flora microcontroller circuit board onto the shoes. I have to admit, we where all ready to hurt someone after trying to glue the LED strips onto the side of the shoes…. OMG.

Oh.. Cori fed the chickens too…

I went through and realized I did not download a bunch of Kathi’s pictures for the last couple months. So here is a list of makeup pictures from late 2013 for posterity!
Here is a winter Hat that Rockwell really liked. What it was doing in the Caribbean, I’m not quite sure.

Here is Melinda meeting Olympic swimmer Webber Gayle at a swim meet.

Here is Rockwell at a race with his friend Masay.

Melinda and neighbor friend before a duathalon in October.

Kathi decided to get a tattoo before her 50th birthday.

Personally, I’m going to buy a red sportscar.

Melinda and the horses.. Evidently the horses like to roll in the sand after they get out of the water. and you better get off of them, because they don’t care if they roll on you too.

Melinda and ? heading to the water.

Holloween! St Croix style.

More work! poor girl..

Rockwell playing the Baritone.. Practice makes perfect!

Melinda and friend. at the “jump up” event, I believe in Christianstead.

Melinda Rockwell, and Mel’s friend Cassandra.

No tree that cannot be climbed by this one.

Sand angel, a special request from Aunt Verna, stuck in the arctic north.
.
Rockwell and his friend Croix got to hang out during the Christmas holiday. Evidently the shirts where part of the deal.. they did not want to take them off the whole visit.

Mel and friend at the big pier, in December.

Also at the pier.

Walking home after a hard day at the beach.

First day of school!

Melinda was tasked with babysitting a puppy. They probably could have charged HER for the service!

Flooding was part of the St Croix adventure this year. Not a pleasant part. from what I hear.

Everyone must get buried (in the sand) eventually.

Mom and Daughter. And beach.

One of Melinda’s early swim meets. I hear she did well!

Hannah and I did the Augusta Color Run (5k) this morning. It was more an event, than a race.. I really don’t think they even timed it. Every kilometer they threw a different color of, what I am assuming is tempera paint, on you. At the end of the race, there is a celebration party area, where you can listen to music and people doing stuff up on a stage, and participate in the color throws, where they give you packets of powder to throw.
In the middle of the race, we stopped at the clubhouse and took a picture with our friend Grace. Unfortunately her husband couldn’t be in the picture.. he was taking it.

Here is one of the color throws.. Hannah was mad when she found out I didn’t take a video… the whole thing from a distance was pretty awesome.

Here we are just about on our way home this morning… covered in color.

Anyway I did take a video, just from inside the throw. , check it out!

I visited Arthur H. Shealy this weekend, and we made icecream. But not just any icecream.. We made it with locally produced milk, and Aiken county peaches! It was Awesome! But the best part was a surprise… While we were taking the machine apart, we realized that we made a bunch of peach infused butter that coated the inside of the machine! (see the picture) Arthur and I made sure none of it went to waste.. Much to Hannah’s dissapointment. She was mad I didnt take her with. Sorry about that! I would have taken Melinda and Rockwell, but they where both at friends houses.. Melinda at Hannah N’s, and Rockwell at Ryans.

Hannah wanted to go look at the cache we put into a tree when Dave and Whit visited us in 2005. So off we went. We took the long way through the woods. Just as I commented that there where less mosquitos than I thought there should be with all the rain… The cache was located in the middle of a swarm of them. yikes! Anyway, we tried to get the ammo box out of the tree… but the tree had grown over the wound enought that the box wont come out of the tree anymore!!! That was a interesting suprise. Hannah left a note on the log inside of it, and we put it back in there for the next time.
