We went tubing on the Chattahoochee River in Helen Georgia. (Not too far from where my niece Shel is going to be living soon) It’s a town they made to look a little like Germany. We had a blast. The kids are the perfect age to enjoy this activity. But, considering I didn’t have my camera on the river, I ended up borrowing some other peoples pictures.. just so you get the idea..

We found another bug! Actually Hannah found it on the tubing trip.. it surprised her and made her jump! This thing would make anyone jump if they were caught off guard. it looks intimidating for sure, but its actually pretty friendly. Its called a “Dobsonfly“. This one with the long mandibles is a male. the mandibles are not so strong as to be able to hurt you, but watch out for the females short mandibles.. they can draw blood.
My niece Stephanie said we have weird bugs here.. She’s going to think I made this one up, its so strange looking! How does this thing fly with so much weight in front of it??
